 These purple flowers are called Dense Blazing Star.

 Thistle seeds erupting.

It was a hot day so I let the Sophie & Tucker cool off in the pond.

Tucker shakes off the pond scum while Sophie continues to wade.

A type of coneflower, maybe Grayhead Coneflowers.
