Fun on the Farm

We took the dogs to a friend's farm last weekend. Because of my recent knee surgery I was not able to walk about much, but we drove out into the field and let the dogs out to do some rambling.

Marigolds are easy to grow and once they take hold they don't require much care. They also come in a variety of colors. I'm sure all the varieties have names, but I don't know what they are.

Butterfly visit?

This afternoon I saw a black swallowtail fluttering around my flowers. Of course I think it's the one that came out of the cocoon on our fence.  :o)

The Sun Sets

These pictures are not very good because they were taken with my phone, but the sequence makes them interesting anyway. The sun was setting and I was walking towards it, stopping to take pictures along the way.

What is that bright glare up there? Could it be the SUN?! It could and it IS.

OK, that happened earlier today. Of course now it's dark, but I could probably see some stars if I went outside.

Near 60 degrees today. I opened a window for awhile this afternoon to air out the house.

The snow is back.

After a reprieve late last week, the snow is back again. We got about another 5 inches. Not near as bad as the ice though and it looks pretty.

I was trying to get a good picture of Tucker's 'bunny butt' as he walked, but every time I stopped to take a picture he would turn to look at me. LOL It was good to get outside and walk around again. Yes, the ice has finally melted!

Thursday Feb 10

Not much rambling to be done since last week's ice/snow storm. It has been too icy to walk around and now this week the temperatures are in the single digits with wind chills below zero. A warm up is coming early next week!
